The General is a 1926 American silent comedy film released by United Artist.  It was inspired by the  Great Locomotive Chase, a true story of an event that occurred during the American Civil War.  The film stars Buster Keaton, who also co-directed it along with Clyde Bruckman.           

Barney Oldfield's Race for a Life is a 1913 American silent comedy short film, directed and produced by Mack Sennett. It stars Sennett, Mabel Normand, Ford Sterling, The Keystone Cops and Barney Oldfield as himself, in his film debut.

Double Whoopee is a 1929 Hal Roach Studios silent short comedy starring Laurel and Hardy. Two inept employees (Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy) at a posh hotel inflict indignities on guests and staff alike.
